Losing Innocence is Permanent Empty Losing Innocence is Permanent

I don't believe that innocence can be regained once it is lost. Once you know about Jeffrey Dahmer, Ed Gein, Adolf Hitler, Divorce, Murder, War, you can't really go back to your snug little cocoon. Maybe you can temporarily regain it by sleeping, drinking, or watching a Disney movie, however. At any rate, maybe this makes innocence a limited resource-- like oil or something. We have to hang on to what we have because it isn't going to be there forever.

Its practically true that once you see what is out there you can't go back to the innocent person you used to be. I guess it is all up to us on how to handle it. We can either ignore the truth or face it. You can never forget it.
