I fine it interesting that the guy is smoking in the dark and all you can see is the little light from the smoke. In war snipers used the small light of a cigarette to shoot enemy soldiers in the dark. May be in some way that symbolizes how he is about to be "taken out" or in other words he ,being the guys who is smoking, wont get away with it.
